A Work Permit is the document that gives you the legal right to work in Thailand. Your visa lets you enter and stay; your Work Permit lets you work. We prepare the file, submit it and follow it through to the card in your hand.
What is included
- Full document check before anything is submitted
- Preparation of the application and all supporting papers
- Filing with the Department of Employment and following up on your behalf
- Collection of the Work Permit book and hand-over to you or your employer
- Reminder before renewal is due
Documents usually required
- Passport valid at least six months, holding a Non-B visa
- Medical certificate issued within the last three months
- Four to six photographs, 4 x 6 cm
- Educational certificates and a CV showing your work history
- From your employer: company affidavit, registration documents, VAT certificate and a job description
- Your employment contract or offer letter
How the process runs
- We review your situation and confirm the correct route and the minimum salary for your nationality
- Your employer prepares the company documents while we prepare yours
- We file the application and answer any queries from the officer
- The permit is issued in your employer's name and for your specific job title
- We hand it over and set a reminder for renewal
Timing
Two to four weeks once everything is complete. The most common cause of delay is a document that has expired or does not match what is written elsewhere in the file — which is exactly what the pre-submission check is for.
Worth knowing
A Work Permit is tied to one employer and one job title. If either changes, the permit must change too. And a permit that expires is treated the same as having none, so renewals should be started early.
